Happy Summer Vacation … if I say it enough, I’ll believe it, right? Ha! Today marks the beginning of the first full week of vacation. My morning began with a whining dog (I had told her to STOP IT at least 3 times before I looked over the foot of my bed), because she had crapped in her bed. Fergie really had tried to tell me, but it was before 7, and I don’t listen to anyone/anything before 7 (more like 8 on the weekend or summer). That is not the way I like to start my leisurely summer mornings. I have also put the kibosh on one chick fight and cleaned up a syrup lake on the table and it’s not even 8:30am. Hopefully this is not a big indication of the day (or week) to come.
The kids and I will be in ND for 17 days in just under 3 weeks. Luckily, I found decent tickets and we get to fly up, rather than the 31 hours of driving (each way). I’m sure it would have been a fabulous adventure for the 4 of us, but we’ll just have to do it another time, and be thankful that we can be there in 7 hours instead. I’m SO looking forward to the fresh air, open windows, spending lots of time with family … we haven’t been home for 2 years. Of course there are a few things that I MUST have while I am home: Pizza Inn pizza, Grandma’s bread, and some more Pizza Inn pizza. Brian will join us for the last week of our trip.
But, as I anxiously await our vacation from our vacation, we will live the good life in sunny Florida. It’s pretty tough living in a place that most people come to for their vacations … we will spend our days going to the beach, going to the spray park, checking out some books from the library, taking the dogs to the sound or the dog park. Sprinkle in a generous dose of time with great friends and their kids, and you have the perfect mix for summer vacation.
I just need to put this here, so I can look back and see that every once in a while they are all sweet to each other.
Ok … now on to our day!!
