Here I am again, updating the blog, since I should be studying … in a couple weeks I won’t be saying that anymore 🙂
Brian got home a little over a month ago and it’s been a whirlwind ever since. Tyler finished up his cross country season and his team finished first in the region, so the entire team qualified for state. Now he is on to his next sport of the year. He tried out for soccer and made the team, and will have his first game tomorrow evening. Sophie finished her first soccer season and did great. Our afternoon/evenings feel much more mellow now with only one night of gymnastics for the girls and soccer most nights for Tyler.
Brian’s mom and stepdad came down just before Thanksgiving, as they do each year, and let Brian and I get away for a weekend. We went to LA and visited my sister, Joan, and her fiancee, Jay. It was really nice to spend time with them and good to miss the kids a little and recharge. Then we had a great Thanksgiving, got way too full, and had good family time and our friends Amanda and Nate joined us too.
So, now it’s on to Christmas. We’ve decided to get away and DO something this year, rather than get the kids a bunch of gifts they don’t really need. Hopefully this will be the first year of a long tradition of making memories instead of just ripping paper 🙂 It might be a hard in the years ahead to top Disney tho! The girls have no idea, and I don’t think they even know what “Disney” really is, so it will be exciting to see their faces when we get there. Tyler is on board, and hopefully there will be more than enough to keep him happily entertained too.
I hope you all have a great holiday season!!! Lots of love, Jackie and the fam
